Upon entering this upscale-casual eatery, there's an area that shouts classic Italian, with red and white checkered tablecloths, a wood-fired pizza oven and an authentic salami and formaggio bar stocked with 25 different varieties of cheese. The back dining room has a vibrant energy enhanced by an open kitchen, a hardwood walkway and rustic red brick walls. For an appetizer, try the stuffed zucchini filled with buffalo mozzarella and topped with bread crumbs and pomodoro sauce. Nearly a dozen types of pasta are offered, including gnocchi with pecorino Parmesan. Be sure to sample the risotto di mare loaded with shrimp, clams, mussels and calamari. A nice finish to your meal is the warm lemon polenta cake served with rosemary vanilla ice cream. Although Italian cuisine is d.vino’s forte, chef Jose Navarro shows versatility in his frequently changing, diverse menu, such as with the crispy-skin salmon with potato spinach fricassée and caper butter, and the USDA Prime rib-eye accompanied by a Sangiovese reduction. An expansive wine menu lists over 500 options, and an Enomatic wine dispensing system allows for samples of 18 different selections.
